Ann is now retired after forty years in Nursing in the NHS. Her position on retirement was Head of Children and Young People’s Service with Blackburn with Darwen PCT where she was responsible for development, effectiveness, employee issues and smooth running of the service for children and young people aged 4 to 25 years.
Skills developed in her role include organisational skills, audit and quality control, recruitment and selection, investigation of complaints, service development, advocacy, safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and communicating effectively with a wide range of service users and other organisations such as education and local council. These skills make Ann an excellent Secretary for the charity.
Ann now works as a School Crossing Patrol Officer and is a key part of the community which is why she is passionate about improving community facilities especially for the local children she meets on a daily basis whilst fulfilling this role.
